Prediction Market Marketing: The Polymarket & Kalshi Playbook
Web3 Marketing

Prediction markets went mainstream in 2026. Here is how platforms, trading tools and brands market to Polymarket and Kalshi audiences.

Prediction markets stopped being a crypto curiosity and became mainstream financial media. Kalshi reportedly added around 3 million new users during the World Cup, per CNBC, Polymarket odds get quoted on television, and event contract ads are a public debate of their own. Attention is compounding around these platforms, and there is a playbook for earning it.

This guide is for three groups: platforms competing in the category, trading tools and terminals built on top of it, and brands that want relevance around the events people trade.

Polymarket vs Kalshi: two different audiences

Polymarket is crypto native and global. Its traders live on X and Telegram, follow forecasters and event analysts, and move on breaking news in minutes. Marketing here looks like crypto marketing at its sharpest: creators, screenshots of big calls, and community. That is the territory our Polymarket marketing practice covers.

Kalshi is a CFTC regulated US exchange. Its growth runs through sports fans, options traders and news audiences on mainstream channels, and its marketing has to respect a regulated perimeter. We handle that side in our Kalshi marketing practice.

Same category, different playbooks. Treating them as one audience is the most common mistake in the space.

The five plays that work

1. Creator campaigns with forecasters and event traders

Every prediction market moment spreads through creators: the accounts people follow for odds, election calls and sports markets. Campaigns with those creators put your platform or tool inside content their audiences already want. This is standard prediction market marketing, done with people who actually trade.

2. An event calendar, not a content calendar

Elections, playoffs, rate decisions, award shows: the demand spikes are scheduled in advance. Winning teams brief creators and prepare content before the event, then ship while the market is the story.

3. Clipping the big moments

A wild market swing or a perfect call is born viral; it just needs cutting and distribution. A clipping operation turns every major market into dozens of shorts across TikTok, Reels and YouTube Shorts while the moment is still live.

4. Community where traders argue

Telegram and Discord groups around markets become daily habit loops. Platforms and terminals that run real communities keep their traders through quiet weeks, which is when acquisition costs would otherwise spike.

5. PR for legitimacy

The category is fighting for mainstream trust. Coverage in the outlets traders and regulators read compounds every other channel, especially for regulated products.

Compliance notes

Kalshi campaigns and anything touching US event contracts need accurate, non-misleading claims and creators willing to follow a brief. Polymarket ecosystem campaigns face platform-level restrictions by geography. None of this blocks good marketing; it just punishes lazy marketing. Build the constraint into the brief and move on.

Measuring it

The metric hierarchy is the same one we use for exchanges: sign ups, funded accounts, first trades and retained volume, tracked per creator and per event window. Impressions are a health check, not a goal. If a campaign cannot be traced to funded accounts, it is a branding exercise wearing a growth costume.
